The role of measurement and data in the workplace experience

Interserve brought together a senior group of property and workplace professionals at the Little Ship Club in the City of London in February to discuss the use of measurement and data in delivering effective workplaces.

The discussion brought some valuable insight and debate to the table. It’s evident there is a magnitude of data available. But the first step is to understand what the question is that we’re trying to answer – why are we seeking out this data in the first place? And how do we keep focus on the humans behind this data to deliver productive and engaging spaces?

The discussion highlighted several points:

  • Why we should measure workplace effectiveness
  • The importance of tailoring physical spaces to support business needs
  • Understanding the data to create spaces that work for its users
  • How to continue evaluating work spaces and evolving them to meet changing needs
